George and the clothing question

The biggest question with George was to clothe, or not to clothe!  We played with a big jumper, a tank top, various items of clothing to make him cuddly and distinctive, with the essence of Georgeness that we were looking for.  The very first line of George the (Almost) Fearless Mouse isn’t Afraid of the Dark tells us that George is very different from the other mice and an item of clothing was an easy and convenient way of showing that.  We even considered a spectacle wearing George.  But eventually, we decided that it wasn’t quite the George and so finally the decision was made.  George would be as nature intended him!
